- UMD sponsors undergraduate research and creative projects through UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program). Students may initiate a project and seek faculty mentorship OR may be invited to apply to work with a faculty member in their research or creative project. Students may receive up to $1700 in funding. Proposals are accepted at the beginning of each semester. for more information…

- The UMD Undergraduate Research/Artistic Showcase is held each spring and highlights the work of UMD students who have pursued research or creative projects, either through UROP or independently.
Sophomore flutist and music major Kayla Barry was recently selected for an UROP award (Spring 2009) to work with Dr. Scott on publishing a collection of Lyric Pieces by Edvard Grieg, arranged for flute and piano.
